Santa Paws is comin' to town!

Over the weekend, we attended the GDA Holiday Puppy Party. So many of the dogs were wearing adorable jingle bell collars, had fancy trim on their vests, or were completely decked out in Santa gear!

This pup was especially festive, greeting other pups as they arrived, next to a "Santa's Helper" who wore the traditional red and white coat.

All the doggies were SO well behaved. To help people remember just how well, they had candy canes to give out when you saw a dog being especially good. Candy canes were flyin'!

And THEN Santa came! He took lots of pictures with the puppies, and since it doesn't snow in Sylmar, there was a snow machine. The puppies were pretty interested in that!

P is for... puppy!

December 28 is pickup day. We will be in Chicago so Drea's mom will pick up our puppy and keep him till we get back on New Year's Eve!

We've submitted Patton and Pepper... let's see what GDA decides!

The baby (puppy) is coming early! Ready for pickup December 28th, when we're still out of town for Christmas! Eek! Drea's mom said she might be able to puppy-sit for us if this happened. And now I need to get in touch with her. Why don't blogs have email addresses right on them? Silly spammers...

What's wriggly black and furry all over?

A black lab puppeh! January 4 is d-day, as in puppy delivery day! I've left a message saying we'd like to be raisers for a pup from that litter, now we just have to hear back on all the details.

What letter will this litter be? GDA assigns a starting letter to all the pups, we create a list of names we'd like, they approve a name. Matt and I have been joking that it'll be a "Q" litter - There are approximately 6 names that are reasonable with Q, so it'd be kind of funny, really. Queenie, Quentin, Quinn, Quincy, Quaid, Quill, Quintessa... We're starting to get to the bottom of the list there. :-)

The pups are apparently ready to go home the week before, but because of the holiday they've made it January 4. Which, I think, means that they might share my birthday! There's a big party in store for our little pup come November!

Dreaming of little puppy paws pitter pattering!

Decision time!

It appears that there could be a puppy on the horizon! I just found out that there are black labs coming up right away!

The "little bit pregnant" future litters are still maybes, so this is the only for-sure in the next few months.

My mind is spinning. Puppy in two weeks?!? Seriously? We need to build the litter-proofer-box, and figure out what to do with all those cords by the tv!

Does this happen when you have a real baby too?
